Last year, Dogs Victoria asked all the breed clubs to contact their members and advise what they believe should be the minimum breeding age for bitches of their breed. We surveyed our members via the Club newsletter and the response was 18 months. This result was conveyed back to our members and to Dogs Victoria where it was published in the gazette.
Subsequently, several members advised that they missed the opportunity to vote due to various reasons and they asked for a motion to be put at the Club’s Annual General Meeting on Thursday 17th of March 2016 and this was done. At the AGM, the motion was discussed and a further motion was put to hold a Special General Meeting to vote on the following motion: That the minimum breeding age for bitches be changed from 18 months to 15 months.
The Special General Meeting will be held on Thursday 19 May 2016 at 7.30PM at the Bulla Exhibition Centre, Uniting Lane Bulla. All members are welcome to attend. For those who are unable to attend, they can apply for a postal vote from the Club Secretary. If you wish to apply for a postal vote you must apply by 22 April 2016 (28 days prior to the meeting) in writing (e-mail correspondence accepted) and return your vote to the Club secretary by 17 May 2016 (no less than 48 hours prior to the meeting.)
