About the Club
The Labrador Retriever Club of Victoria Inc. was founded in 1952 and incorporated in 1991. The aim of the club is to promote in every way general improvement in the quality, breeding, exhibiting, and working of Labrador Retrievers, and to educate and encourage members, breeders, exhibitors and judges to abide by the requirements of the breed standard as approved for the Labrador Retriever by the Australian National Kennel Council (ANKC). This Club is made up of enthusiastic people, who own, train, and love Labrador Retrievers. A number of Club members are ANKC registered breeders. A breeders' page can be found within this website. At public events, Club members also assist in promoting responsible pet ownership by providing information about breed characteristics, general care requirements, and make referrals to other Dogs Victoria affiliate clubs such as those specialising in obedience, agility, retrieving, tracking or other dog sports. The Club conducts a number of retrieving trials, a championship show, and/or an open show, social days, and members competitions - all of which are held for the purpose of promoting the objectives of the Club. The Club encourages Labrador Retriever owners to join and participate in these events. |
